I heard about this last night and had to write about as well as share it.

Girl Walk // All day is a film that should be seen. Without giving any spoilers, it's basically a full length music video - divided into 12 chapters that follows 3 dancers across New York City. What is amazing about it is it's all done right on the streets of NYC. What's even more amazing is that even though the dancers are really captivating to watch, the people streaming by, going about their busy day are just as fascinating.

I grew up in NY, so I am probably biased, but in all my travels, it would be hard to find a place where a group could pull something like this off. When you're in NY, whether you live there or are just visiting, you become part of this huge ballet just by stepping out onto the sidewalk.

I have one related anecdote, I once sat in a restaurant one night overlooking Times Square and when we looked down onto the street, we saw a man in a Spiderman costume. He was wearing cowboy boots and hat, totally by himself and in full groove - dancing his way down one of the side streets while listening to his music player. It was worth a few seconds of chuckle and conversation, but then it just came down to a shrug of the shoulders and the cliche 'yep, only in NY.... gotta love it'.

Being a photographer, I love creative, unique concepts that tell a great story as well as inspire and this does both. Combined with some great tracks, really cool dance moves and just a fun overall vibe, I highly recommend this.

Enjoy!

I embedded the trailer here, but the actual website should be visited to watch the film. It's terrific and needs to be shared.
